Earlier this week, retired pastors and staff of the African Methodist Episcopal Church brought a class-action lawsuit against church officials over the loss of more than $90 million in retiree pension funds. A month ago, the AME church halted retiree payments over concerns about financial mismanagement. That a religious institution lost such a staggering amount of money is mind-boggling.
